AJ Styles’ History with Dirty Dom, Who Will The Phenomenal One Face at Wrestlepalooza?
AJ Styles is still looking for his Intercontinental Championship rematch against Dominik Mysterio after being defeated at SummerSlam 2025 in classic Eddie Guerrero fashion.
Before finally getting a SummerSlam match, AJ had been haunting Dom by disguising himself at times as a cleaner or even a hall boy.
At Night of Champions (Saudi Arabia) 2025, AJ was set to get the IC Title match against Dom, but Dirty Dom was declared medically unfit.
Since last SummerSlam loss, AJ has been a nightmare for Dirty Dom, costing him his AAA victory at TripleMania 2025.
While Clash in Paris is the next PLE set for August 31, WWE might soon announce the IC Title match between AJ Styles and Dirty Dom.
Moreover, since one episode of WWE Raw is still left before the night of Clash in Paris, we might soon get an official announcement from the Raw GM regarding the Intercontinental Championship.

On the other hand, there are fan theories that since AJ is not featured in any promos or on the card for Clash in Paris, WWE might already have plans for him at the September PLE Wrestlepalooza.
At the same time, rumors suggest that John Cena has mentioned wanting to face AJ Styles again before his retirement match.
With all these speculations going around, AJ Styles might finally get his match with Dom at Clash in Paris and then later be set to feud with John Cena, either at Wrestlepalooza or another PLE before Saturday Night Main Event in December 2025.
Just like John Cena, AJ Styles’ retirement also seems to be near, as AJ has repeatedly mentioned that he will step away from in-ring competition after turning 50. As of now, he is 48.
So, before John Cena retires, AJ Styles should definitely come face to face with the 17-time World Champion and continue their rivalry from the 2017 Royal Rumble, where Cena defeated Styles to win the WWE Championship.
Additionally, AJ has not been able to capture a title for the past few months, so Triple H might finally give him the chance to take the IC Title from Dom, either to set up a match against Cena or perhaps even team up with him in the tag division.

Hey @WWE @TripleH, It quite simple:
🇫🇷 Aug 31: Cena vs. Logan Paul (Clash In Paris)
🇺🇸 Sept 20: Cena vs. Brock Lesnar
🇦🇺 Oct 25: CENA VS. AJ STYLES for the IC Title at CROWN JEWEL PERTH!#Cena10Dates #CenaInPerth https://t.co/7tFbsuOiSG
While it’s not official what the future holds for AJ, seeing The Phenomenal One hold the IC Title and have one more showdown against “Never Give Up” Cena would be an exciting sight for the fans.
