On August 8, 2025, during WWE SmackDown, John Cena and Cody Rhodes faced Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul in a tag team match, which ended in a disqualification.

After the match, Drew McIntyre brutally attacked Cody Rhodes, sparking a feud between these real-life friends in the WWE storyline.

While Drew McIntyre has been chasing the WWE Title for a few months, this might be the moment when WWE finally gives him the chance to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

This will not be the first time Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre have gone one-on-one, as they previously battled in a singles match on an episode of Raw in February 2024.

While WWE has not officially set the championship match between these two, there is speculation and an unverified match card circulating in the media.

However, with Drew attacking Cody with the belt on last week’s SmackDown, it strongly hinted at an upcoming championship match.

Therefore, Cody might have to defend his WWE title against Drew Mycynter, most possibly in the WWE upcoming PLE “Clash In Paris”.

While the WWE Undisputed Championship might not be official yet, we have some exciting matches, including the fatal four-way match between CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and LA Knight.
