When Will Ricky Saints Get NXT Title Shot Against Oba Femi?
On WWE NXT Heatwave, Oba Femi successfully defended his NXT world title against Je’Von Evans, but ended up with Ricky Saints, who seems to be seeking a title shot against the current champion.
During the match, Oba Femi stood tall after putting Evans through the commentary table and finishing him with Fall From Grace to retain the NXT Championship.
As Femi was celebrating, Ricky Saints came out to confront the champion face-to-face, leading the speculation that he might be Oba’s next challenger in the upcoming PLE.
The former NXT North American Champion entered the ring and stood in front of the champions, Oba, and pointed at the belt, saying I’m coming for it. He also said;
I am the one, I am the big day That right there is all on me, Look in my eyes.
In response to Ricky Saints’ words, the current NXT Champion hilariously said, I see nothing. While the potential feud is seen between the stars, it hints at a possible championship match in the future.
The NXT official has not made an official announcement, but there is speculation that Ricky Saints will have a title match against Oba Femi in the upcoming PLE.

He promised he had next, and he’s making that a FACT!

Moreover, these two stars have never faced each other in a singles match in their entire careers, though both have expressed interest in battling one another in the future.
In May 2025, when Ricky Saints was the NXT North American Champion, he appeared on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, where he was asked about his dream opponent and who he would like to face.
In response, Ricky immediately named Oba Femi, stating that he wanted to become a double champion. Later, Oba Femi responded to Saints on the show by saying:
“I think so. I think so. I mean, once you know, he might he might want to unify the championships, he might want to become double champ … whenever he’s ready for it, I’ll be here. I’ll be here, Ricky. I’m not running. I do like Ricky Saints, I love his stuff, congratulations to him. He jumped the ship and bet on himself, and he’s the man. But whenever he’s ready, ‘The Ruler’ will be here.”
Therefore, analyzing the past history between these two, WWE might soon schedule their match for No Mercy, which is the nearest NXT PLE.
