Former WWE Arab American Star Muhammad Hassan Announces His Wrestling Retirement

Marc Julian Copani, famously known as Muhammad Hassan, started his wrestling journey with WWE in 2024.

Before his journey in WWE, Muhammad was involved in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) under the ring name Mark Magnus.

Hassan made his WWE Raw debut in 2005, where he got storylines with big names like Jerry “The King” Lawler and Hulk Hogan.

He even confronted Hogan at WrestleMania 21, and then later started his feud with Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker.

Initially, WWE protected his characters as undefeated champions, but later on July 7, 2005, on the episode of SmackDown, things turned tragic for both WWE and Hassan.

On that day, the pre-taped scene was shown where Hassan was summoning five masked men to attack Undertaker.

A few days later, the London incident took place, which questions Hassan’s character, claiming he was the reason behind it, despite not having valid proof.

Following this situation, Hassan stepped out of wrestling before he could shine on the WWE network.

Later in 2018, Muhammad returned to the ring after a 13-year hiatus, competing at the Dynasty event King of Thrones in April, where he defeated Papado.

Following his retirement from Wrestling, Hassan never returned to the WWE again after 2005. But now, Hassan has completely taken off from the Ring.

On 2 August 2025, Hassand appeared on “The A2theK Wrestling Show” where he shared his wrestling journey and how he planned his retirement.

During his time in the A2theK show, he shared that he will never return to the ring, saying;

“It was a lot of fun, just to be able to get back in a ring in front of a few hundred people, Just see if I could still do it, and I could do it, obviously not at the level I used to do it… I was done and kind of got it out of my system, and I don’t think I’ll ever step in the ring and wrestle again.”

Now that the former WWE star has chodes to closed chapters of his wrestling career completely, he mentions that he is open to any WWE return in the future, but not just in the ring.

Moreover, during his time in the interview, he also shared about his family life and how he his involved with his kids and is happy with his official retirement.

Despite Muhammad being in the wrestling world for a short period, he became one of the most controversial characters in the WWE.

So, there is still a chance that we might see Muhammad on the WWE Network in the future, but it might not just be in the ring.
